Author Topic: Vehicles - Bullet Physics?  (Read 2688 times)

Is It a reasonable possibility that blockland vehicles will utilize bullet physics in the future? would that require a complete redo of the vehicle code within blockland or could just the rigid body be upgraded?

Whatchusayin'?
Are you asking that there be mesh deforms when a bullet is hit, because that could prolly be done with collision meshes on the side that just rape the actual model... I think.

I think we just need bullet holes or something

Apply a texture...? I don't really know there. Or it could just make a model appear on the side of the vehicle, but collision meshes are usually just big ass cubes around the vehicle, that have no shape to it, and that would just look like crap.

He means Bullet physics as in the physics engine.

Like bend of the bullet path, oh and you can make bullet holes through code. Torque directly supports decal-on-the-wall-on-bullet-hit stuff. I dont know if Blockland does though.

It does, but it only marks "certain" terrain surfaces. It doesn't mark bricks/vehicles/players/anything else so it sucks.

Just to make it clear: HE MEANT THE PHYSICS ENGINE

YOU KNOW
like the one the bricks use goddamnnnn

And I dunno, it would probably require re-coding.

meh soz clueless..................... ..:....................::::::::D

I think it would be a decent idea too, As torques built in physics isn't the best.

We're still in TGE 1.08.3, thereabouts.

The newest version is 2.

I thought it was obvious until I read everyone's posts.
Nice.

It'd be nice if Badspot redid. the vehicle code entirely, especially the collisions and physics. I hate going through walls and under terrain when I get hit by something small, or when two vehicles collide, Chaos ensues.

I think the physics that the vehicles have right now are perfectly fine, excluding the glitches through walls and bricks. But thats just me
