Author Topic: Brick Protector; Protect Your Builds from Annoying Credit-Stealers!  (Read 1615 times)

Okay so I was thinking,
We have a trust system in Blockland that makes it so you can't build on bricks that you didn't spawn UNLESS that person gives you trust.
So I had an idea,
Would it be possible to modify this so you can't save bricks that you didn't spawn unless you had save trust from another person? Would it be possible to do this and create a fourth trust option, save trust, to accompany full and build trust so people can build on your stuff without letting them save?

This would really help if you wanted to host a Death Match arena that you built, but you don't want other people to save it and host it in their servers because you want to have a monopoly on that Death Match. And why shouldn't you? You built it, shouldn't you get to choose who can and can't save it?

I'm no scripter but I think this would be possible. If anyone knows how to do this, please, do it. Oh, and if you do do it, please GIVE ME CREDIT for the idea. Thank you.

Please discuss.

Third trust is yourself. :P

I was thinking of this too, but instead it should be made so that only admins (this could be adjustable in rtb!) could save bricks.

I WANTZ THIS! lol

Its easy, but I can't believe nobody has ever done it.

yep, i'm not much of a scripter, but I get the idea of it and i think it is definetly possible. :)

I know, I wish someone would just do it so I can host my airplane RP without worrying about build-robbers. Seriously, give me credit for the idea though. The last guy who took my suggestion didn't give me credit for the idea and recieved loads of "wow this is such an awesome idea I wish I had thought of this"

meh. If only I learned to code well...

Not possible. Badspot has even stated that if someone does find a hacky way to pull this off, he will modify the game to get rid of it. In short, it will never happen. You either keep your build to yourself, or you put it on the internet for all to see and use to their liking. Not both.

Or hide your name in such a place unimaginably hard to find that if someone steals your build, they could not possibly find it unless you showed it to them.

Why on Earth would he do that?

while they're at it, give everybody else credit who suggested this, which was so many people... and give you credit for doing nothing? just suggesting something that was already suggested over 10 times?

Some one saved My TDM And hosted a server.  Funny that they didn't know it wasn't finished.

If you don't want people to save your builds, don't host it. That's the only foolproof method that will stop your computer transmitting the positions and attributes of bricks in a format which could potentially be saved to other people.
