Abandonware is software that is no longer supported by the producing company, hence the "abandon." Obviously, id Software still supports Doom and Heretic, making them NOT abandonware.

Ummm supporting is that they still make commercials or propaganda for it, or make expansions for the original game! (New versions like Doom 3 dont count) , not just put a paypal thing to people buy it and download it, it should be still in stores...

People still play Doom online and make new WADs for it. With such a thriving community, the game is hardly abandonware.
