Author Topic: Terrible Brick Lag  (Read 1202 times)

I get brick lag when there are just 8k+ bricks, mainly when they are close together.  I have heard some people, Truce for example has no brick lag even with 128k bricks loaded.  The brick lag I get makes playing difficult, and sometimes its unplayable.

System Specs:

Manufacturer - Acer
Model - Aspire E380
Processor - AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4400+ 2.30 GHz
Memory(RAM) - 2.00 GB
System Type - 32 Bit Operating System
Graphics - Acer X192W on NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE nForce 430

Additional Info:

I have a strong and fast wireless DSL connection, this is not an internet problem.  I think this is either a RAM or graphics card problem, but I'm not sure.  I have tried using DSL, T1, and custom settings under the "network" section in blockland options, but they all still give me brick lag.

Question:

Is the brick lag problem something that can be resolved by buying more RAM, a better graphics card, or something else?  Or am I better off just getting a new computer?  Also, what network settings are best?

I don't know for sure, could be a graphics problem, I have the same thing happen to me, I don't know, I'm no computer geek.

I got an ATI Radeon 1300 Graphics

Yay it's Tez :D

2GB ram is enough. But your graphics card is pretty old.

And worse then my 7300 :D

You need a new graphics card.

I also may need a new graphics card, but how do i check the model?

You need a new graphics card.
that's what the 2 above posters said.

Brick lag is one of the easiest lag to get rid off (or reduce it). Simple go to your option, then your advanced graphics and set the draw distance at 0.1-0.2  This works for me at least, not only for viewing but for building too.

Start> Run> type in without quotes "dxdiag"

Alternatively, you can right click My Computer and hit properties.

Certian briks together(1x1x0.3, 1x1x1 1x1x5 etc. etc. etc.) make lag
