Author Topic: getting closer to new laptop, gonna get some games  (Read 936 times)

I've been saving up money to buy a brand-new Dell XPS. One of those new black 13" ones. :D. So, now that this dream is getting closer, I was thinking of buying Portal, since this computer should have more than enough power to run it on decent settings.

I was about to ask if Portal counts as a contender for running off of by Garry's mod, but looked on Steam. yay.
So, are there any other games I should get? Please remember that this computer from Best buy is just under $900, so I won't be able to get that many things. I have a lot of the older Lego Games, and I have a nice big iTunes library to import. According to Best Buy, the hard drive space on the XPS is 500GB. Enough to play X-Plane :D

So, tell me any good PC games that I should try to get, besides Portal/Garry's Mod/X-Plane 8.60.

$900?

Why don't you get a real computer, a custom desktop computer instead of some Dell Laptop with integrated graphics stuff?

buy a mouse with it, I hate playing BL on my nephews lab top.

I need a laptop because I am on the road a lot. I have an hour-long ride from and to my school. I would get a desktop, but I have too little privacy with one. I don't like my mother seeing what I play :P

I actually don't really like using a mouse for computers. I like the trackpad for Blockland, Spore, Cortex Command, Need For Speed Carbon, X-Plane, and all my video editing. So yeah. Lol.

I'm just glad that Portal is only $20 :)

My parents won't let me get games rated M.
I explained a crapload of this stuff in a section I cut out because it was mostly asking if Portal had the Source Engine for Garry's mod in it.
So, I can't get the Orange Box. No matter how much I want to play Half-Life 2. :(

im saveing up for a computer..
