Author Topic: Computer shuts down when playing games  (Read 1493 times)

Whenever i play games (IE: Blockland, Gmod, HL2, etc.) after about ten minutes my computer shuts down and says "power save enable" or some stuff, and doesnt turn on for about another 20 minutes. I have a windows xp professional, 895 mb of RAM, and an ATI radeon xpress 200 series graphics card.

Laptop or desktop.

If i do remember i think its some kind of settings to save your computer's power?
I used to have a PC Laptop but not anymore since i think it got a virus then go stepped on then a fan broke. :panda:

How would i get to the power settings on a desktop though?

I cant remember cause im using a mac now.

How would i get to the power settings on a desktop though?
Nevermind, I set the power setting to always on, didn't help.

this is a bad topic name

no edit button.
I would appreciate some help.

I believe under Start>Control Panel there is a Power Settings or similar option. (Vista it is Power Options). If you go under there there should be a setting saying after how long idle it a)Turns screen off   b)Goes to sleep...
If not try virus scanning (always a possiblity).

If not again, I will try to help ;3

I'll try a virus scan. In case i get no results, any other possible solutions?

Virus scan came up with nothing.
Any other ideas?

Ask somebody who knows like a tech support person?

tech support for my system?

What is the
A) Exact error message
B) Manufacturer (and preferably model) of your computer.
