Author Topic: Windows movie maker, publishing quality  (Read 638 times)

i got a game recording about 2gigs in size. an AVI
only 2min in length

there are many options to pick for publishing a video.
i try to finalize the clip and i cant get a good quality for less then about 450mb on the standard DV AVI option.
what settings do you guys use? i dont want to have to install other apps just for this 1 process if i can help it.

ok i figure it looks like crap because the publishing auto resizes the capture to a smaller resolution. but i cant find in any options to not have this happen :(

You need a custom profile from the interwebs

I keep my default settings for Movie maker, the possible problem lies in the capture quality of your Fraps. Are you able to adjust the quality control for recording or adjust the capture area at all? I find that helps a great deal in reducing the size of the file to be transferred over to movie maker.

i record at perfect quality, a copy of my actual game play.
that's why 2minutes is 2gigs of avi lol

Yes, and that's why the file is so large. You can still record it at half quality on full screen and still get a decent recording. Or you can frame the recording area so that you don't capture any extra junk you won't need that would only add size to the file. I do get it, we did talk about this before. I know you love your graphics quality. lol
