Author Topic: Why does my dad think GTA SA is so bad?  (Read 4265 times)

I'm not allowed to play Doom yet I can play Quake, Half-Life, Left 4 Dead, CSS, Team Fortress...blah blah blah.

tell em half life has the same amount of blood as doom has

and so does l4d

I don't know my parents never really gave a stuff, I was allowed to watch R rated movies when I was like 5 or 6 they just didn't want me repeating the stuff I saw. Now they don't care at all. I guess they trust me not to think it's normal to go around with a RPG and blow up cars at random. Maybe your dad thinks your to stupid to realize it's just a game and that you'll carry the things you learn in it into the real world. That or he's tribal and doesn't like the protagonist of the game being black.

Violent videogames aren't that bad if you play them.

Theres no nudity in GTA SA just lots of adult themes, cursing, and violence...right?

There was  aminigame about love that was never fully removed and you can access it through means that I have forgotten about, so yeah.

I think that's what happened.

My mom dont cares, she thinks that is just a videogame, like the movies... the first M game i played was Gears of War :D After that i just started getting M games.

Hot Coffee, its only in SA.

The way I see that whole subject is that parents don't want to take responsibility for their kids. Video games just give the violent person(?) a means to an end, it doesn't make them violent. The way a child is raised will ultimately determine how forgeted up they are going to be in the end.

EDIT: In fact. I would bet my life that the internet, in general, is far worse for a childs development, then a violent video game.

QFT

You know why they say that violent video games make you violent? Because there are some parents that totally dont care their kids and dont worry about how they will behave when they are older.

Show him love scenes in GTA 4. He probably will get you GTA SA then. :D

At a young age my parents let me play anything, just as long as there wasn't like research in it then it was alright, which is understandable at the ages of 9,10, and 11 onwards. But now being 16 and my parents divorced, My dad is trying to be the "Concerned Parent" and when I'm at my dad's playing GTA SA or something and someone yells, "forget YOU monday" or something like that my dad hears it and goes, "What is this?" Then I just say, "Whatever dad." Then he gets pissed and continues to read his newspaper.

i think the rateings (C, E, E10, T, M, A,) should be removed and only leave the box that say blood gore etc. and i think the same for movies >.>
