Author Topic: Blender - First Renders  (Read 3941 times)

Alright, so I downloaded Blender a few days ago, and before you know it, I'm hooked! So here are my first few renders made with Blender.
(Thanks to Darkstar for supplying me with the download link for the Blockland Player)

My first ever render, I followed a few tutorials to make the glass and the die.

Second render. Here I experimented a bit with the lighting, particles and textures. If you look closely you can see the skateboard is a little odd, this is because I was running short on time and didn't fix things up. No tutorials used to model the objects here.
I actually fell in love when I finished it, so I added 'Blockland' to it. :D

Third Render. I literally went crazy with reflections. Actually, this is still unfinished as you can see. If anyone can tell me how to fix the problem with the frying pan's reflection and the glass, it would be much appreciated.
(The metal strip protruding from the frying pan is actually another frying pan, it's just a little odd. Have to remove that).

Goodnight, and constructive criticism only, please!
Yeah, right!

This makes me want a Blockland minifigure now :(

Makes me want to stop wishing I had Maya and start trying to learn blender.

forget

I need to learn how to use blender.

O_o

That's amazing!

Ugh, why haven't we developed invisible materials or some sort of plasma-magnetic-field-generator yet? I want a Blockhead minifig. :c

I like the second one.

Is it possible to buy a little blockland figure/action figure thing?

No.

unless you have hover technology

Could you tell me what you used for grooves?

Are you sure you "Made" them? or did you simple find some site full of 3d models for free?

Well they could just be trans =/

Is it invisible chicken wire? :D

Wow, thanks for the positive replies!

If you're talking about the one going through the counter in the third render, they're two seperate objects. I used 'bevel' on each one.

I'm sure I made them (minus the Blockland Avatar), I spent most of three days reading on Wikibooks. Most of the objects aren't that complicated.

If you used some sort of transparent plastic like acrylic, you could have almost floating hands/shoes which stay lined up with the arms.

I guess that's as good as we'd get, that's what Lego does.

Someone needs to find a website or something that makes models for you out of plastic and ships it to you. Although I bet nothing like that exists and we need someone who has a bunch of random giant machines that do that. :C
