This is a video I found on youtube that exemplifies what I stated in a post a few months back, about what beauty is and what science does. I just thought I'd share it with you. The background music of Pachelbel's Canon in D was a nice touch. It's a really beautiful piece, one of the best from the Baroque era.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ZbWIqu5QtQ&NR=1Oh you're just hilarious. What you biblenuts really don't understand that beauty does not require a supreme intelligence to be created. Beauty is something we humans invented, a way to admire the world we live in. Nature's beauty is really just millions of organisms trying to survive. The beauty of the Universe is that there is order. Now, you might say that this order (i.e. universal constants, laws of physics, etc) requires the intervention of God, but the more we discover as a species, the more we understand (at least, those with an open mind) that this is less likely than it seemed two thousand years ago.
Sorry if the quote is inflammatory, I was in an argument when I said it.
Also, on an unrelated note, I miss Carl Sagan. ;_;
