Author Topic: First Add-On, should I post?  (Read 3309 times)

I know, I know, I shouldn't post my first Add-On. But, after long discussion between myself and my friend who is helping with it, we have come to the conclusion that we should post it. But, I still want others' opinions.

General stuff:
-Not quite a simple gun edit, we are making a brand new model from scratch
-Has some potential to be pretty useful
-Model will be very good, but don't judge, it's our first model (but we think it's pretty dang good)
-Has not yet been made (yes, I've searched the forums many times)

I don't really want to disclose what, exactly, it is out of concern that another, more advanced Add-On maker will take my idea, but if disclosure is requested strongly enough, I will most likely reveal what it is.

Model will be very good, but don't judge, it's our first model
If it's your first model, I suggest you don't post it unless it's damn good (And simply keep practicing instead). People will judge it no matter how nicely you ask them not to.

Good luck with it though.

That's very true, and we are doing our best to make the model as detailed and good-looking as possible, so as to avoid flaming... ._.
And thanks for the "Good luck", I think we'll need it, :P

Goddamnit.

'Scuse the double-post, but /toolgun? Explain?

Just as a side note, you may not want to go over the top with detail. Try and keep it as low poly as possible, but still decent looking. I personally prefer that all my models to look extremely blocko, because I like my weapons to suit the game.

/toolgun

It's his first add-on. I don't think it's scientifically possible that they could have come up with anything even close to the toolgun. No offense.

None taken, you're right, we couldn't make something like that (yet, anyway).

Yeah, we definitely took that into consideration.

Well it depends on how well it looks and preforms. It there are little or no bugs. Then that would be good. But we could use a picture of the model.

Only if it doesn't suck.

See, I'm a little hesitant about posting a picture of the model for the aforementioned reason of the fact that someone might steal my idea. However, if there is enough demand for a picture, I will post one.

Well, it's not gonna be something as godly and epic as, say, the Spartan Laser, but I doubt it'll suck, we are putting a ton of effort and time into this thing. But if and when it's released, if there are any problems with it, please, let me know, and I will lock the topic and work on perfecting it. Don't just say "oh this thing sucks ass", or, "you're a horrible scripter/modeler", that doesn't tell me what's wrong with it.

You sound confident. Do it.
If people criticize on the add-on, take it as advice. We're all learning.

I want a picture. Demand+1
