I'll go with a "yes I want this."

this would be amazing to have, if it's made then GMOD will have competition.

What we need is for bricks not to be anchored to a grid, that way we could have actual doors, because now we can't have real catapults, catapults could add a lot to the game, but if that all happens, we could have moving collision meshes, elevators if we wanted to, useful for maps without jets. I think BL could be a tiny, and I said TINY, bit more like roblox, but only in useful things, like motors, hinges, and such. I want to make a real door damnit.

Thats sorta drifting out of the traditional Blocko world and venturing into Gmod. This would probably be far to complicated include, but it would be fun, I cant argue that.

@ MeekL

That wont be happening. GMod will be GMod and Blockland will be Blockland

This sounds like an awesome, but very.. uh.. Robloxian idea. I believe their main lag source is server-sided physics... Next thing you know we'll have people shooting themselves with rockets.

Although, if that could be pulled off, epic win!

It's not "robloxian" robloxian is people yelling "REPORTED" for killing them when you're supposed to be fighting, getting banned for swearing (but not for saying "wtf"???), the forgeted up currency system, and of course the fact that roblox was made for SIX-YEAR-OLDS.

Physics is not robloxian, or gmodian, it's NEWTONIAN!
Anyway, physics calculation shouldn't take too much cpu, when a block is set to be "anchored", just turn off the physics on it completely, no calculations running on something means no lag when exploding something next to it.

This is a very good idea, but it's plausibility with Client-sided physics is questionable, as unless the bricks don't stop the player from moving and instead passively get bumped and phase through things, players are going to be colliding with what looks like thin air to other players.

roblox was made for SIX-YEAR-OLDS.
Surprise? Considering this stuff:

These special bricks should just permanently act like they're 'fake killed', but with special constraints. For instance, a hinged brick could swing on an axis (one side), but have no actual collision: just being moved by other bricks or people walking into it. This way, you could make a kind of door, trap or secret wall that opens when you touch it, or a see-saw, or whatever you want.

This.

I would love this

And the person who would makes it
