Author Topic: Debating whether to get Windows 7 or just stay with Vista  (Read 4888 times)

Well recently I saw that Windows 7 looks amazingly lovey. In fact so good I want to buy it, yet at the same time, I'm not sure if it has as many or more compatibility issues as Vista.
So, should I get Windows 7 for my Gaming computer or stay with Vista?

Windows 7 is a huge improvement, Uses less ram, Faster startup and shut down, Bugs me less, Also had no problems with it (unlike vista which i had a huge amount)

Yeah Bisjac is running off the beta for that and it runs really nicely. Perhaps if I switched, I'd have more RAM to actually render large brick servers in Blockland without heavy lag.

Im getting it.

Windows Vista is the child of satin.

I have Vista, it's painfull.

Can i run it?

Go get at least 2 gig of ram. Only then can your PC get to at least good performance.
:D

I have Vista, it's been quite an enjoyable experience so far.

I see no compelling reasons to upgrade. Memory usage has never been an issue since Vista surrenders any in use to the active application and an upgrade is dirt cheap. Compatibility is fine, few issues in that regard. Most can be fixed with a dab of Admin rights or XP compatibility mode.

About damn time someone said this. Vista is fine, stop jumping on the hate bandwagon.

Although SuperToxic actually had some issues, his case is rare.

I dunno if I remember correctly, but your computer wasn't designed to run Vista.

I'm glad the therapy worked out for you.

Now watch everyone jump the gun and agree with you to suck up. lol

I'm doing well with Vista, but if 7 does have some genuine advantages I can use, then I'll go for it. Otherwise, I'll stick with Vista, like I stuck with XP until I bought a new pc that came with it.
