I think Valve is just messing with the pyro fans. If you notice They will mention the pyro is a she then quickly change it some text in the article. I bet Robin Walker in laughing at the "PYRO IS A WOMAN" believers.

At times if you want the regular one, you can type mp_usehwmodels in the console and set it to 1.
