People saying that Disney messed up anime, you guys are border line handicapped.

Lookit that, they forgeted it up by giving the rights to Disney, butchering the title, and letting a stupid little kid with untalented friend brothers voice act.

Disney has the rights to "The Cat Returns"
And they didn't mess it up at all.

all of his movies are just a big acid trip
irrelevant
It is when the acid trip isn't entertaining, when it's entirely possible to make it so. (See: "The Wall")
I never liked Spirited Away. It was all forgeted up, and didn't make an ounce of sense. The 'story' was so flimsy (well, of what I could understand). This seems just as ridiculous, and after reading the synopsis, reviews, and seeing advertisements, I decided I'm going to pretend I've never heard of things so ludicrous as this movie and it getting such great reception.

Yuki brought this to my attention:

Don't be fooled by what I said in my last post. I hate anime and I especially hate Miyazaki's movies. I was just pointing out dax468's stupidity.

I thought it was quite original and charming, but yes it was forgeted up very much so.

That black blob thing was the creepiest stuff in the movie.

That's sad that you hate it.

It's just a movie.
It's some peoples taste. And sometimes movies don't.

IMO
I don't see how you could hate a movie. Unless it was bad.

@ Yuki: I think the problem is that you have too low of a intention span to even understand the plot in such film.

That's sad that you hate it.
No it's not. It's overwhelmingly unwatchable garbage. I have watched a lot of anime by the way.

That's unfortunate.

Lots of people agree that Studio Ghibli films are the best of anime.
Because they are done in a traditional way.

Hmm let me edit

You're such the friend.

And i don't flame people a lot now days. But,

Side note: This whole situation provides more evidence for my theory that anyone under the age of 19 who likes sonic the hedgehog has suffered some kind of brain damage.

How so? Provide specific examples. Unless of course you mean the poor reputation of anime in the general public. You're an idiot either way.

First of all they have the nerve to call it an animie when it's just a transformer dressed up like a fake looking creature of a fish and how they don't even have an animie producer. And don't animie normally have a roamance and a heartbreaking moment or itemse fighting normally based for mature audiences?

It's just a movie.

Very well, I can acknowledge that other people like the movie. That was my opinion.

Attention span. The plot isn't complicated, it's not even deep. I'm speaking from simply the synopsis, but I digress. I understand the plot very well. Girl is fish, fish-girl goes to surface, meets guy. Fish-girl wants to become human, and is given a chance. stuff happens, guy chooses any form of fish-girl and fish-girl becomes girl, lives happily ever after until they make a sequel.

It's not exactly the greatest or most original story ever told.

Upon reexamining this thread, it seems that it's largely revered simply because it was done by a Japanese author/filmmaker.

This movie looks nice. Might see it.
No longer irrelevant :3

Holy stuff, that movie would be freaky if it happened in real life.
Way to be irrelevant.
