I am getting the game real soon, which one of these companions is better?

Fawkes
Sergeant RL-3

Author Topic: Fallout 3, Fawkes or Seargant RL-3  (Read 3935 times)

So which one do you prefer? I like how Sergeant RL-3 is a stereotypical american soldier, and I hear he fights with strategy and also has good storage. Whilst I heard Fawkes basicly goes on a screaming rampage and massacres the oposition, but in some cases he can get overwhelmed from running headlong into the battle.

So what is your reccomendation? (I can't wait to get this game, I am literally dieing)

Fawkes is a good follower, however he does tend to rush in hedlong and kill any chance of a sneaky ambush. Great for flanking when in an open area.

Neither. No need for assistance when you own. :cookieMonster:

But you must get assistance to own.

I'm unstoppable in that game and I've never bothered with a follower.

Most of the add-ons don't allow followers anyways, so I've gotten used to not having one either.

Nono, better yet.
Dogmeat. :D

Isn't there another follower? Some black chick that's a paladin? Whatever... I voted for Fawkes because I don't know the other guy.

You have to  be good to get Fawkes and you can't get him until basically th end of the main story line and RL3 you have to be neutral, you can get him whenever you have 1000 caps though.

What about jericho?
I don't think he's very good, not a lot of health, can't carry a lot, and he has the same problem as described by Fawkes earlier.

Doesn't Dogmeat get his ass raped regardless of how he is fighting? So he pretty much just plain sucks at fighting?

But he is epic nonetheless.

He doesn't take up the companion "slot" so he's basically a free companion. He doesn't do well in areas with mines and enemies behind the mines because he rushes in and likely dies but if you have the Broken Steel DLC you  can get the puppies! perk which allows you to get a new dog. It's weird though because You have the option when talking to dogmeat to say Good boy. But the puppies perk says that you get puppies from dogmeat's litter.
