Author Topic: A tornado in Minneapolis, MN  (Read 4149 times)

Well.  I wasnt helping to many people, because I was hit also.
There is damage on my house, that I am getting fixed.
Actually I was pointing out the stupidity in Packer's post.
But hey, that's bad.

I may post photos.
Idk, its kinda over, life goes on.

Wow, I remember hearing this. I was near it, but not that close.

yay for california disaster relief!

Yes, I live in New Ulm, MN.

I heard about 12 noon that there was a small rain system heading towards us. They said it was just rain, but it was going to hit us right on anyways. There was no tornado, no severity.

It was a few hours later on the radio I head that a tornado had been spotted a few miles south on downtown Minneapolis, I didn't hear of the other two.

Maybe... 3-ish, they said the storm had gotten stronger and with more wind. It had slight rotation.

Around 5:00, the storm had reached a neighboring town of Sleepy Eye, and the storm had gained much strength. It had hail, heavy rotation and strong winds. They had a tornado touch down about 2.5 miles southeast of the town. The tornado sirens went off in New Ulm, and people in Sleepy Eye were locked in businesses and homes. It never went to the town, but several people saw it.

It barely missed my town of New Ulm. We went out to dinner right about when the sirens went off. It started raining very hard. My sister was in Target, and they had everyone get into the tornado shelter they had.

After dinner, we followed the storm for a while. There was lightning galore.

Well, that's my end of it. :D

A couple days ago we had a really bad thunderstorm (A months worth of rain in one day) and when my older sister got home from the movies she had to trench through water that was almost up to her kneecap in order to get out of the parking lot and down to our house

Run from a swirling vortex of doom for your life?
Volunteer to help the affected rebuild their lives?
Die?

Yeah, that sounds like a barrel of fun.
My job is to jump off a moving vehicle and sit on it going at 50mph (Roughly, 80km an hour) with nothing but a bar I must hold onto to stop me falling off.

I am in Downtown Minneapolis, and I had a radio which was telling me that the tornado crap was heading towards Sleepy Eye.  Guess it never hit it.

I think my block had the worst damage.  Because one tornado went down my alley, and another went down me street in front.

I remember living in Woodbury, Minnesota once.

so did i marcem

I remember when that happened. I wasn't to far away but it didn't do anything where I was.

Does the tornado play Blockland?

The tornado missed us. :(
At least we had some kick-ass storms.
