Author Topic: Service Bots [Updated Details, Need Willing Scripter]  (Read 7360 times)

How about a cylinder with legs, arms, and some kind of symbol describing the use of it (e.g., health for the health bot and shield for the shield bot).

Pictures will be here soon :D

That's actually a good description of my vision of it.
Maybe I'll MS Paint this stuff up for easy ref.

Okay, I'll be working on another model for it.

I'm not too good at sketch up, but I will try to make what I am saying.

I think this would work better as a server theme, as opposed to a downloadable add-on for your DM server.

What do you mean by theme?

Bump, once I get back to my house I can show you the bot. It's just like you described!

bump. We is in need of a coder!!

Yeah really.
Maybe I should request this be moved to modification?  I mean, once we get some models in.

Well, you first need a new playertype.

Then a new function to spawn an AI-Player with that playertype near you and let him follow you.
Then we could add some new servercmd's to let the robot play an animation, like holding a weapon and then drop it, so you can pick it up.

I think the scripting could be done easily, but the playertype would be hard

I have the model; the body looks like a square but in the back it is round.

looks a bit odd, but hey, it's the best we got now
Can you add some animations to it, or isn't that possible with sketch-up?

Btw, I can create a new playertype with animations and script it.
I could also try to script the functions of the mod
