Author Topic: Service Bots [Updated Details, Need Willing Scripter]  (Read 7351 times)

You sure about that?
Because it seems like you don't understand.
Each bot has a different laser pointer. And instead of hurting them it turns them into a new playertype, like survivor, but for each bot there is a different one. And if there is, say, a healthbotplayertype and you shoot someone with that laser the health bot would be attracted to that player, rather than the other players. And if you shoot multiple people the health bot will heal it in order of most health needed to least health needed.

Same with the kill bot, it would kill them in order of greatest health to least, in order to be more efficient.

But coordinate's would work for a shield bot, you shoot the ground and it walks over to you to deploy itself.

It would probably be hard to script, but the idea actually makes sense. Just use playertypes.

P.S., the playertype for the health bot goes away after they are fully healed, and can't work when their health is at 100%.

Uh, what? Its a laser pointer. Not solid except for on the tip.

You really don't understand the topic.

1 lazer, 1 shot. Shooting different things makes the bots do different things. By shooting a bot, you activate it. You can activate more than 1. By shooting the ground, all activated bots move to where you shot. By shooting an enemy, selected bots will attack them. By shooting a team mate, selected bots will assist them. By right clicking (Alt fire), it deselects bots and makes them follow you. When you shoot something, it deselects bots and they carry out their task. When deselected, they'll defend themselves, meaning they'll have an area around them. If something enters the area, they'll assess the situation.

Oh.
You're right, I do not understand this. I had a completely different idea than what was true.
Sorry I assumed like that, I admit I can be quite a hypocrite at times.

Your playertype idea is unneeded, seeing as there are bot mods that don't use your method to make bots follow players.

And anyone have a model yet?

It's fine, at least you tried to understand.

I would have them, but my computer is still down and out, so it might be a while. I'll see what I can do on the crap computer I'm using at the moment.

Alrighty.

And don't be hesitant to search around for a scripter, preferably someone who has done a bot mod of some sort.  Once we get a few models in we'll get this moved to Modification Discussion.

If you wanted.
I didn't draw legs.

I'm at my cousin's house. When I get home I'll make a better model.
