Yes, that is what they do, they don't just fire on everyman they see. They fire on high-value targets and tell their team if an attack is coming, where there are machine guns set up, where other high-value targets are, and if they can see the other team trying to set up an ambush. They are a valuable asset, just that some people don't know how to do it right.

Exactly this, I can't stress this enough, alot of people think that being a sniper is just wearing a ghille suit, walking far out and then shooting anyone you see. Relaying information and what not is much more important.

You can't kill anything bigger than a small field mouse with an airsoft gun, buy a pellet rifle.

A decent pellet rifle could kill a goose, and they aren't very loud, and the sound doesn't sound like a gunshot of any kind.

The link doesn't really show me anything. What gun would you recommend for starters. I am not going to spend 300 dollars on a giant amped up gun with custom sights, barrels, and camo when I haven't even played yet.

High value targets? You mean I can place a 500 dollar value on someone in an airsoft game? Lol.  An attack is coming? Lol again, an ambush? Really? I just realized how advanced you guys make airsoft, and I can't believe you even have fun with it.

I walk about a mile with my gun slinged over my shoulder, 7lbs.  In fact, I carry two guns on occasions.
