I still need a direct answer of what I should get for starting out. On the sites, I see gas pistols, snipers, shotguns, landmines, AEG, classic rifles, springs guns, launchers. I don't even you what half of that (Gas, classic, AEG, spring) means. All I know is that I should get goggles, gloves, extra mags, and something to hold my gun.

Get AEG, it's the best if you are a beginner. I dont think you need gloves, but you do need goggles.  Extra mags or an okay to get, and if you do need something to hold it, go for it.

I have very basic knowledge of airsoft guns, and feel free to correct me when wrong professionals.

Gas I think is when a metal cartridge of carbon dioxide is used to make the gun semi-automatic. Semi-automatic means that you do not need to pull anything to make a bullet fire, just pull the trigger.

Spring is non-automatic. You have to either pull something to make the gun fire or for a pump shotgun, push down on the pump.

Ok, if you want a gun Ill find it for you if you tell me what type you want, what your budget is and Ill find the other stuff too.

Silencers are just for looks and barrel extension so it can supposedly be more accurate.  Dont waste your money on one.
It's not a waste of money for the extra range and precision you'd be getting. Mock silencers are made yes, for looks, but also so that you have a longer outer barrel length, allowing for a longer inner barrel.

stuff
It's unlikely a clone will last you more than a year, most people replace the parts of clones asap, as said before, It's never a good idea to leave a clone stock.

Automatic gas guns exist, and alot of gas guns work by putting Propane/Green Gas/Other type of gas into the magazine.

I don't really have a budget limit but I don't want to get a $300 gun when there could be a $100 gun that is better. I want either an assault rifle or a one shot at a time rifle.

Does Airsoft hurt more than paintball? I've played paintball but never Airsoft.

I'd like to get a gun some time soon. Not to expensive because I'm trying to save for a car. Any suggestions?

Meh, they sorta hurt, but paintballs are heavier and can leave a large bruise, and an airsoft gun can leave a welt if fired at unprotected skin or if you are close enough.

It depends how you want to play, if there's a field close to where you live than you might want to get some more expensive stuff, if its just backyard things you won't need a ton of gear. Now a quick thing about gas, aeg, and spring is that the gas is something you'll need to refill often however usually has a faster FPS (feet per secound). The AEG is a battery and will need to be charged now and then and have a varied amount of FPS depending on how much you want to pay, also a very common gun type. Spring is where you rooster back every shot and should only be bought if your getting a sniper and you really don't want a sniper. Now your best off getting an assault rifle or an SMG, this would be a good spot to start out for your gun: http://www.airsoftgi.com/shop_by_price.php?range=1&sort=5a&PLsort=5a. Once you find a good gun look at the FPS, it should be around 300-450, if its less than 200 don't buy it. Now if you have some extra money you would be best off to get a sight since iron sights (the ones you have on the gun) are harder to use than a sight. At the least for protective gear you will want protective glasses, now if your going to a place you might want a gun holder or just put it in a backpack if it fits. For extra magazines you might want to check in its details for what kinds of guns it supports and your pretty much set.

That's not always true. Some people make some gay guns where you rooster 30 barrels back and fire 30 rounds and repeat. Complete waste of time and energy.

Also @ heed, I suggest you don't get a gas. The cartidges are only a dollar, but after a while it accumulates, and I just don't think it's worth it.

Gas is actually super cheap and GBB guns are damn cool. That is if you're running propane, Co2 is meh because, there aren't too many GBB guns that run on Co2.

Edit: http://www.amazon.com/Crosman-12-Gram-CO2-Cartridges/dp/B000FEUUEW/ref=pd_bxgy_sg_img_c 25 cartridges for 20 dollars isn't too bad.

Does that mean it's a propane accessory?

stuff guys, I shot my TV screen with my airsoft gun on accident. I didn't know it was loaded. D:

Now my dad is pissed at me and there's a little obvious mark whenever you turn the TV on. forget flat screens. :(

Never played paintball but my friend decided to "test" some crap with a carbon dioxide powered semi-auto pistol and forgot it was loaded. He tested on my arm, and huge piece of skin gone. Scab healing process begins.
