it makes the BB "hop" up. you can use it to get better range.

Also, the only Airsoft gun I have is a spring-powered FAMAS. I do not have a pistol, but I do have an extra mag and a grip. Should I take it to any Airsoft gun fights (secondaries will be provided)?

meh. id recommend some sort of automatic gun before you go to any events. buy a CYMA ak47 or something, they're cheap and good.

Hello? I've asked twice now. Is this a good gun for neighborhood skirmishes and such? I'm not some Airsoft Fanatic. I already have some Co² canisters and 6mm BBs though.

Keep in mind I have only $30 and no idea how to use gas with an Airsoft gun.

well id save and buy an automatic before you buy a nice pistol. just $30 more and you could get something good.

the pistol does look okay though, read reviews/look some up on youtube etc to be sure

eeeh might buy a javelin full metal m16 while its on sale on airsoftgi. sale + coupon code will make it about $166, normally $220. I'd probably upgrade some things such as the fugly hand guard, and maybe the stock and pistol grip. maybe get a 6.03 barrel or something.

well it has one for a sight where the carrying handle is. none on the handguard though, which would be my first upgrade. thinking of just buying a foliage green Magpul handguard to go with it. you can add rails on it easily and it looks really nice/is comfortable.

The handguard sounds good. You could also buy a sight/scope to replace the carrying handle. Maybe an ACOG or EOtech. Whatever tickles your fancy.
