Seeing how Discovery just launched, I felt like getting back into this sim.

It's fun, but you need two essential mods in order to enjoy it the most:

Orbiter Sound: http://orbiter.dansteph.com/index.php?disp=d

Shuttle Fleet V4: http://www.orbithangar.com/searchid.php?ID=3730

EDITED IN BECAUSE I COULD: It's really loving hard without the Shuttle Fleet (this has autotakeoff included in the download).

forget I forgot that the shuttle launch was yesterday :(

And also, I forgot to warn you, the vanilla game sucks. You need to get some of the addons in OrbitHangar if you want it to look nice.

Can go to other planets?

Can go to other planets?

Yes, if you want to take the time to travel to them, you can. You can also use the fictional "Delta Glider" to explore them. There are also missions to do that spawn you on a different planet, such as the moon, mars, etc.

Give me a picture of what Jupiter looks like. :U

OP forgot to list the fact it's really loving hard

Added, but to let you know, the Shuttle Fleet allows autopilot

I hope face or whoever gets that multiplayer add-on working. I really wanna rendezvous with someone else in orbit. Maybe with lua someone can make it easier to fly up separate modules and attach to stations, I don't like modifying the save file >.>

I love orbiter, I suggest someone to use this song for music in space: http://www.zreomusic.com/music/7-mc/CloudTops.mp3

I don't like space simulations that much because I get kinda freaked out if I get close to a planet D:

Such as driving the space plane on a runway? O.o

I loved the feeling of first reaching orbit, when I picked up this simulator, I had no idea how orbital mechanics worked, nor did I have much interest in space. After I got in orbit, that changed :P To think, I thought all the space shuttle did was fly straight up xD

Ahhh.

You bring me memories.

Go get NASSP and OribiterSound.

But make no mistake - ORBITER is not a space shooter. The emphasis is firmly on realism, and the learning curve can be steep.

Its only rocket science! (Notrly though)
