I got a Beta key from a friend. Apparently it's like "DotA", but I'm not seeing the point. It's like an RTS-RPG Hybrid, but more confusing and with less features. Essentially, just point, click, watch. I must be missing the point, but pretty much, this game blows. The community pretty much sucks, I almost got votekicked from a "noobs only" server for being a newbie, then they tell me to just "defend" so I don't die. I got kicked for being "idle" after shopping in this asinine item shop for a few minutes. I went back and played it again, just to make sure I wasn't missing out on anything, but the experience was pretty much the same. Everyone expects you to know what you're doing, and calls you out on it if you don't. As for the gameplay... There's barely any. I mean, there's more gameplay value in Runescape. "Teams" are worthless because god knows no one uses any assist spells (or whatever the forget it is, I can't figure that out). Normal fighting is worthless unless you're a high level, and is boring anyway (point, click, watch should be illegal in anything but an RTS). You only control one character at a time, your "hero", but there's little squads of AI whatevertheforget they are to run into the middle of the map and "fight" (basically just useless fodder, they might as well not exist), which you have no control over anyway. You die, respawn and do it again. This is the worst mish-mash of gameplay mechanics I've ever seen.

I'm uninstalling it now.

Yuki, try DotA, for WC3.  Maybe you'll get it more.

I've never played a Warcraft game, except WoW for a free trial, and I quit after a few minutes anyway. I read the wikipedia page on DotA though.

WC3 is an rts.  Not like WoW at all.

Fair enough, but this isn't an RTS in any manner.

Defense of the Ancients.

You control a hero and try to destroy the other side or something. I play WC3 but not a lot of DotA because the players are very elitist-- you get blacklisted for being new so I was never able to get into it. (because I was banned immediately)

It's alright. The public community is utter stuff though. Miles better than DotA, but still stuff.
