Homeschooling is probably the most superior type of education. To hate it is extremely stupid. In the US, the public school system is a joke. Gifted students are forgeted over, and there is a general atmosphere of hate towards learning.

Homeschooling does not make you less social. It makes you more intelligent.

I want to be home-schooled now, but my parents are divorced so no one is around to do it :(

Not to mention I'm already half-way through highschool, and I kind of like it, so I don't really want to leave.

Good luck getting into post secondary education of any sort. Homeschooled kids would be lucky to get into the labor force.

Since I was homeschooled in kindergarten, my 1st grade teacher let me teach and play games while all the other less intelligent kids has to do work  :cookieMonster:

Um, what? Colleges lap up homeschooled kids.

My brother is doing just fine in college and he was home schooled through high school. He's going to the state's university, but you can always transfer if you're doing well enough.

I've gotta agree. I learned most of my multiplication, division, and fractions while in 2nd grade by myself at home.

I'd rather be homeschooled and go over work myself and then go to collage then go to school, honestly.

the thing about home schooling is that it lets you progress at your own rate, rather than the classes'.  You could be fricken dumb, if you are in public school, you struggle because the class is already passing you up if you don't keep up.  If you are home schooled, then you can learn at your own pace and get help as you need it.
If you are smart, but not smart enough to pass to next grade, then you have to sit there and do repeated homework and stuff that you already know how to do because of the rest of the class.

I've never been homeschooled, i'm just assuming  that it would be like that, why would you, in a class of 1, get delayed/pushed by a class if there is no class..

"Jimmy, class is over, your sister needs to come in the kitchen for Biology. Now go to your room and do your homework, your teacher says you've been needing a tutor in History so I might look for one."

It's called "no child left behind". Dumb kids can't fail, or else the school gets assforgeted.

I wish i was home school'd.
I was homeschooled in kindergarten, then stopped.

I could probably learn every loving think in my grade in 1 day but instead i waste 7 hours of my life a day.

woo

My God.

Homeschooling is dandy, when one parent makes enough money to support the entire family.

I think the kids aren't dumb, they think that it's "too-nerdy" to succeed.

I was home schooled for about 4 years, (4th - 7th) and I went back to public school.

That video made me lol.

That's a completely outdated stereotype (and that line is completely cliche), I didn't run into any attitudes like that in public or private school. Being a nerd is apparently all the rage these days anyway, with Transformers and Watchmen and whatnot being so trendy.

Are you home schooled? If so. Why are you? Who started homeschooling you? Do you like it?

Im not. I think home schooling doesn't allow to child to express him/her self. And even make friends.

Yes. Because my parents dislike the public-school system. My mother. It's school, not something I find entertaining.

Homeschooling does allow kids to express themselves, just maybe not in an entire class. Socially, your best chances are hoping you go to a church that has a youth-thing. Of course for some, there are other outlets.

I haven't found it displeasing or the other way round. I have never been in public/private school before, so I could not say which is better in my opinion.
I do dislike the social side of things, but I only 1-2 years left till that is over with.
