That's a completely outdated stereotype (and that line is completely cliche), I didn't run into any attitudes like that in public or private school. Being a nerd is apparently all the rage these days anyway, with Transformers and Watchmen and whatnot being so trendy.
I've assumed that it happened everywhere because it occurs frequently in my area.

Homeschooling is probably the most superior type of education. To hate it is extremely stupid. In the US, the public school system is a joke. Gifted students are forgeted over, and there is a general atmosphere of hate towards learning. Homeschooling does not make you less social. It makes you more intelligent.

I quite disagree, I go to public school and their gifted program is incredible.
That and nerds are probably the only ones to save the world from loving itself up or thinking up the stuff everyone uses these days, but I agree.
The nerds also get all the womans when they get older.
