"I think that guy is gay"
Am I saying
"That guy is gay" or "I assume that guy is probably gay." ?
Whenever people say "I think" that means they're assuming, using facts they know about life, to make a guess that is about something that is possible and maybe probable.
Please examine the following quote:
My opinion is homeschooled kids don't get much social interaction most of the time. (This does not involve the Internet.) I have been homeschooled before but when I went to school, I had much more time to spend with people my age. Not stuck in my house with my mother for several hours of her telling me stuff. While I would get out when other kids are still in school so I would just sit around watching TV or playing Doom.
Where do you find "I think" in this paragraph?
I totally agree that when you say "I think (something)" it means that you are stating your opinion. But he said "my opinion is (false fact)", which is a totally different situation.
