paradox?
plot twist?
I have a friend who has worked in a couple hospitals.
The nurses don't freakin' care at all. He saw one nurse go out for the "infinite smoke" as he calls it, and apparently she didn't like the noise of the ambulance idling nearby. So she goes, hops in the driver's seat, and turns it off, then she gets out and goes over for a smoke. Any nurse who actually knew what they were doing would know that ambulances are left on idle so that the various monitors and equipment (like an oxygen supplier) could still be running while the doctors run and get ready to give the patient full care immediately.
So the doctors rush to the ambulance, the clueless nurse doesn't know what's going on, and the doctors are horrified to find that the patient has almost died, because the ambulance was off, and they arrived in the nick of the time. Did the nurse get fired? Of course not.
I have so many horror stories about hospitals, it's really disillusioning.
