Author Topic: TF2 external idlers get stuff removed  (Read 20004 times)

It's not so much fiddling with game files as with the Steam servers by sending false data to them "I'm spectating TF2 in arena_well honest".

Might as well go eradicate every server with a false player count, too.

It's not much of false data, its just different way to connect a special TF2 server made for that program. Or am I wrong?

To idle in server with afk kicks: don't even go past the motd.

No.
Xbox 360 version is Vanilla, nobody likes that except people who don't use unlockables.
Ah, my pc sucks

loving hell, I lost my sandvich too ;-;
That's what you get for idling instead of plang BL with Robo Noob >:(

Oh boy! I cant connect to servers because they are banning me for having using the idler!

Isn't that swell guys? :D

*Goes to play cavestory*

Holy stuff

I just realized, if I hadn't obtained that scout hat, I wouldn't be a convicted cheater.

wat? :o

I was reading the posts in this thread and I was just wondering, do you really have to have the items? I really think that the hats take away the fun because everyone loving cries over them and it's ridiculous.

I am not as upset about the hats as I am about not being able to join my favorite servers.

It's not about the items what angers me. It's about they never told idling is against the rules.
Besides the idling program doesn't even need to have TF2 files on your PC to work, so the argument about it interfering with game files is invalid as some people try to say(So people who idled on servers should also be punished for something what was never against the rules). And people would have stopped if Valve had warned them before, but no, instead punish them for something what wasn't against the rules before + call them cheaters(cheating is taking advantage over other players, which is not possible with this program as the item drop rates are same, and its basically same as idling on servers, just wastes less PC resources).

There, I'm done with my rant.
Good thing I'm not very dedicated to this game. :o
Go away, will Valve say "Hay guise, don't do this" every time something like this comes out?  They had expected some common sense.

That, and, as stated before, valve DID say there wouldn't be a punishment for using the idler.

They removed my items that were gained through the idler, which I can live with, but I cannot stand the fact that it tagged my account so people could ban me for having used it.  Plus I cannot host anymore because of this.
