Hats governed by "Pandan Cloud", sure. /equip it is, then.

Now I'm actually looking forward to this release :cookieMonster:

You just might be baffled at Mr. Doom's work-around.

I can guarantee you that /equip will work regardless of any workarounds after I join a hat-enabled server once to download the models.

Gimme a beta so I can tell you how broken it is.

Key word there.

I love how you both are trying to find bugs and problems with this. Instead of helping me find a fix for those issues.

Because it's impossible to fix it.

After joining your server, I have the model files. I can really do whatever I like with these. Note how TF2 has the same command in various servers.

helping me find a fix for those issues

With Blockland, there isn't one. Public Add-Ons' scripts are visible to all.

EDIT: Didn't we already go over this with your attempt at a global player rating?

Wasn't that by some other guy? It wasn't Pandan, some other guy with a really big idea for a "global ratings system" I think.

EDIT: My mistake. Yes, it was Pandan. I'm sure I saw a different one somewhere, weird.

No no, there were two: Server ratings, and player ratings. Pandan/Doom's even had something about granting ban immunity to players with high ratings. *cough* Strike that, it was minus points for banning someone with high rating. i.e. allowing scripters to control the ratings of everyone.

Aha, found the one I was thinking of. This one was a server rating system, easily fakable for the same reason.

Here's a couple possible fixes we came up with.

Timing is central server controlled.
Banning people from the hat database.
Privately distributing this.
Running a modified script of BL Hat mod will ban your server from accessing the central server.
CRC checker

There has to be around it. I just need to think here..

Timing is central server controlled.

This is what I was talking about:

... but it requires you to host a dedicated server for the rest of Blockland's existance. Good luck keeping a computer on that long / paying for it.

That doesn't prevent me in any way from making the /equip hats command. It doesn't need to go through your script at all, only the model files which you cannot add code to.

Also,
it requires you to host a dedicated server for the rest of Blockland's existance. Good luck keeping a computer on that long / paying for it.

EDIT: Now you're ninja'ing me :(

I fail to see how a CRC checker could work. Run client script of my own accord to measure CRC of your files, edit the real one to always return that number to be checked.

This is what I was talking about:

Not really the issue here.

I can keep my server up as long as i wanted.

Although, i would prefer to do this a different way.
Oh! I got it.

The Hat mod will not be global. (making it a per-server thing)
Server administrators can set random drop intervals.

I think you're right. It's hard to do this globally.
