If it was Un-Announced, A idiot would go into this topic saying OGM RTB BETA IS OUT!!!!!11!!

If they figured out which they usually do.

Well, yes... So... I should check RTB forums, then? :/ I don't like going there because it's set up in a way I am unaccustomed to, and as such it scares me. And things like that made me react violently with pitchforks, even if it is the harmless Frankenstein, misunderstood and all.

Edit: Just searched RTB Forums. The only mentions of Beta by Ephialtes mark up to RTB 3 Open Beta. Seemingly, he hasn't even mentioned it there... Or the search thing is weird. o_o

Also, about Load Add-On(Thought you were talking about that add-on), I was just about to add a thing that checks whenever an add-on was downloaded, it would be added to my list. But due that you don't like people modifying RTB, then I would like to ask that you could add some event system when a file was downloaded so I can use that instead?
Ehem... I just want to verify if you are going to fail it again, or approve the small edit I made to make that work...

It will be an open beta until 100 people have applied for it, then it's a closed beta.
When do you think RTB4 will be ready for a beta?

The beta will be ready tomorrow.

He's talking Valve time.

He means in about 7 years

Can't wait, also on Ephialtes' local time says hes almost 4 hours ahead of me. Also my b-day is in 5 mins :p

More Progress.

I've picked up work on the client interface having just ripped out all the code relating to the XMPP protocol, and I'm now plugging away at moulding it to the new BLXS protocol (I've decided to name the RTB Connect protocol "BLXS" and one day I'll tell you what it means). The authentication routine and friend roster population/rendering are working already and everything seems to be a lot more responsive and generally faster but we'll see how this holds up when we have 600 users online at once. There was a tiny problem with the XML parser not knowing how to handle self-closing xml elements but that was a pretty simple fix.

Next steps are to fix the friend invites interface and then implement friend presence handling. Presence handling also includes details about the player's current playtime/server/status and all of those things.

Stupid question, but does any of that effect the beta?

If anyone asks about the beta again I will specifically prevent them from applying for it.
