I just have a small question about the new file arrangement :
Many add-ons that use RTB Prefs (mine included, unfortunately, since i copy/pasted from one of those when I was figuring out how) will exec RTBR_ServerControl_Hook.cs if $RTB::RTBR_ServerControl_Hook is false. Since the alpha's file system is different, how will this affect those add-ons?

If a compromise must be made, you think he'd put the file in it's own place and just have an exec to the new location in it?

The old filepath and variables will still exist, but would reference the new path. The include code will be updated in the documentation to reflect the fact that RTB now gets executed before everything else too and people will be encouraged to switch their code to the new format. Then eventually I'll just remove the legacy stuff and anyone who couldn't be bothered to update their code will be left with a broken add-on.

Ah, I wasn't even aware that that usage came from the documentation, but I had a feeling that it had to do with before RTB was loaded before other add-ons.

Will RTB4 be released near the beginning of 2011? I really can't wait!

There's a chance the beta may come out this year if I can get everything stable and working nicely.

I realize this probably isn't the best place to ask, but I didn't feel it deserved a new topic.
But I kinda got banned from the IRC while I wasn't even online, is there anyway you could look up the reason?

If you do end up adding chat rooms to Rtb 4 will there be one global chat room?(Kind of like the irc)

Yes.

Edit: Actually I think there's gonna be 4, each with their own purpose.

There will be about 4 or 5 public ones - like a General, Helpdesk, Servers, Off Topic etc.

That's neat. I like how RTB4 is coded and designed. It really gives it an attraction.

Interesting, and people can create their own channels?

On a semi-related issue:

Also, is it possible for someone to get an IP ban, and due to the use of dedicated IP addresses, someone else eventually get's assigned their IP address and get's an IP ban but not an account ban from the IRC?
Because when I try to join RTB it says I'm banned, but my account itself was never banned when I was online, yet when I try to connect with mibbit or mirc it says I'm banned also, so can I just assume it's an IP ban meant for someone else and not an account ban?

All bans over the IRC are IP bans, because someone could easily change their info to get on otherwise.

And yes, people can create their own chat rooms. Though I think he had it planned to be a premium feature.

I haven't decided on whether it'd be a premium feature or not (or whether there will even be a premium service) but I definitely plan to limit the number of rooms created by users somehow. People should be encouraged to enjoy the rooms available to them instead of immediately trying to make their own.

I changed my IP and now I'm not banned, also thanks.

Seems like it would be fairly simple, except the payments part, if you're using your own program not IRC, which is what I read. It also seems like a decent idea, I'd be happy to put a few dollars forward for a donation.

Yes he's using his own server, self-coded and such.
He's not using an IRC server.
