Last time I was at a Renaissance fare I almost bought a pole axe. But I re-thought the purchase after realizing I didn't really have room for it.

I've been two times. The first time I bought this awesome wooden shield. I got soup in a bread bowl and watched a joust. Saw people buying/selling/playing ocarinas and saw a ton of fancy outfits. The second time was more of the same, but I bought a wooden sword to match my wooden shield. Plus it rained and there were a lot of girls in white, tight shirts... ;)

They all start pretty similar mine already started. Don't yet know if I am going but it was fun the last few times I went. And although I don't dress up or anything I think its fun to get mocked by the people who work there. And also my states Renaissance fair is way out in the country inside like a field. So there is tons of mini houses that stay there all year long. And some of the people that work there in the houses and shops actually sleep overnight there for the whole time its open.
