Author Topic: Truce - Hey guess what, people don't appreciate you deleting their base files  (Read 25161 times)

All Craftsmen servers have Eval, as the members are expected to be honest and non-malicious with it. They usually are, and I find Eval is great.

A good while ago, Wizzeh's server mysteriously crashes with his base files all missing. We figured the script monkeys were messing with something and had an accident. So, he reinstalls and gets back to work. Truce was the first suspect, since he usually plays with hacky stuff.

Not that long ago, after Wizzeh closes a server he comes on Skype saying all of his saves were missing. We came to the conclusion of Destiny using a v5 variables exploit. As the exploit was fixed in Wizzeh's version, our assumption of Destiny was false. This leaves only Truce as a culprit, yet we could only guess, so he wasn't punished or anything.

Just tonight, Amade's dedicated crashes and all of his .DSOs are missing. This time he checked his log.

According to Amade's log, he looped through his .DSOs and deleted them. Once he did so, he crashed the server.

Quote from: Amade in Skype Craftsmen Chat
[9/18/09 8:28:06 PM] Amade:Truce purposely crashed the server
[9/18/09 8:28:06 PM] Amade: right there at the end of the log:
[9/18/09 8:28:17 PM] Amade: -(2035)(Truce)->crash(); (Spock note: This line is how commands in Amade's eval show up in the console log

We debated waiting for him to pull this again, and posting the log. But we don't need the risk of having him in the servers period.

Speaking of which, I know for a fact he abuses /getmaplist. He even admitted to crashing Wentworth's / Diggy's Metropolis RPG.

What happened, Truce? You're a perfectly likable person, I remember talking to you on Skype for hours over the Summer. But this simply isn't acceptable.

Discuss.

Truce :(

Deleting base files isn't horrible though, because can't you just reinstall Blockland?

He even admitted to crashing Wentworth's / Diggy's Metropolis RPG.
I applaud him

...Wow.

Yeah, but it's tedious.

Why would anyone purposefully delete someone else's base files? It's like he out of nowhere decides to be an ass and troll everyone as if he thought eval didn't log everything he does.

He's using his scripting powers for evil, :'(

First off, you guys are idiots for having access to the eval command on your servers. Secondly, Truce has always been known as an abusive script kiddie and it's your fault for not being careful about that.

You pretty much only have yourself to blame - once Truce slips up enough he'll get his key revoked like all the dumbasses before him.

I applaud him

The point was that he crashes servers. He said he's crashed about 80, that's the only specific one he mentioned.

wow

he seemed like a good person :/

Ahahaha

Just ban him. Done, or kick him from your clan or something.

Speaking of which, I know for a fact he abuses /getmaplist. He even admitted to crashing Wentworth's / Diggy's Metropolis RPG.

That was over a few months ago, and I haven't done it since. Don't exaggerate.

I get bored, and you don't lose anything you can't replace in twenty seconds.
Plus, Amade even put in a function to stop file editing. What happened there, eh?

I pretty much always have.

Truce has always been known as an abusive script kiddie

Code: [Select]
In hacker culture, a script kiddie, occasionally script bunny, skiddie, skid, script kitty, script-running juvenile (SRJ), or similar, is a derogatory term used to describe those who use scripts or programs developed by others to attack computer systems and networks. It is generally assumed that script kiddies are juveniles who lack the ability to write sophisticated hacking programs or exploits on their own, and that their objective is to try to impress their friends or gain credit in computer-enthusiast communities
Hm, not quite.

once Truce slips up enough he'll get his key revoked like all the dumbasses before him.

Yup.

I'm so loved.

I guess you can't always trust people, especially if you don't know them in real life.
