Imagine this scenario: You need to attack a enemy base on the other side of the map but their, right in front of you is a GSF Aircraft carrier and a score of smaller boats.Then they open fire. Rockets and bombs are out of the question and guns aren't powerful enough.

By this point is time your probably losing most of your squad or your falling from the sky or turning back.

A torcreep could be nice about now, think about it. Its Stealthy because its under water, it has a long range. But its slow

hehe, too many people on the server? arround 3-4 per GSF carrier, so that's 12 or so, then score of smaller boats... 8 more there, 20 on each team, 40 people in a server + decent build + vehicles = slight tiny lag storm

AP-Bombs are bombs you throw from aircrafts. You manually throw them from a plane. It isn't involved with any launching of any mechanisms. A person literally throws the bomb.
