I bet many people are voting Freeman not because they think he is the best video game character ever, but because they simply don't want to see Nintendo have proof that they did something right. Nintendo has made many great games that are rejected simply because Nintendo doesn't aim for the hardest of the hard core. Remember Wind Waker? It was rejected because it was viewed as a game for little kids, but in time it has become one of the fan favorites. Maybe if people actually tried Nintendo's games without the view that they are all made for little kids and soccer moms (though I admit, many Nintendo games these days are, they're the only ones in that market, so why not go for it?) they would find that some of their games aren't actually as bad as they say they are, despite the lack of gore. Heck, if people responded more kindly to Nintendo's games that are fun for people who game allot, they would make more games for gamers.
tldr: First, read most post, then vote for Freeman if you actually think he is the best game character, if not, don't vote for him simply disapprove of Nintendo.
