Author Topic: World of Warcraft: Public Test Realms  (Read 1024 times)

I figured the WoW:PTR deserved its own topic.

What is it?
It is what BLizzard uses to let the community test the upcoming patch.
Note that it is only up for weeks/months at a time.

Can anyone join?
No, your account has to have been activated before the test realm goes live.

Sounds like fun, where do I go to get it?
From http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/index.xml . Look along the edge for Public Test Realm.

I'd love to but I ran out of prepaid time :p

To add on to this..

Premades: You get 4, and they don't give them out every patch. They come with the highest season gear on live, the highest tier (not tier gear from the raid you're testing), many weapons, 5000g, epic flyer, and a few mounts.

Same here.

Except I don't use prepaids yet.

I'm out of time as well.

I only have 1 horde character on the PTR. Hes on PVE.
My other guy, a mage is on the PVP and he is blackmagicma
why dont you list the people and their realms?
but you would have to change it inter daily i guess
Hes alliance, btw.

PTR dont cost money.

You need time on your account to play the PTR.

PTRs are for kids who mess with their level 1s asking for money, not willing to level and just want to play an 80 and act like they know everything about it. I've played it once just to try the new 3.3(4?) dungeon.

Rules of PTR:
Don't join raids of any kind.
Don't do arenas.

I tried an arena, there was horde everywhere, D:
also, your right. Kids flood it, but the looking for group channel has intelligence somewhere.
