Author Topic: You can't save other peoples build.  (Read 1583 times)

Well I making this Ship at my sever and people keep on saving it. And they usually make a sever and say they made it. So maybe we can make something that makes other noobs not to come to your sever and save your build.

Badspot should totally make requests like this a ban-able offense.

Yea good thinking

A more possible idea would be that when saving on other servers, it only saves your bricks and the people's with your trust

But then again trader you want evryone banned.

This

why would you want this? it's pointless, and somebody will just make an addon to save all bricks anyway, because you did save them to see them, temporarily at least from my understanding, also, try searching

You have chosen to build something in a multiplayer environment.  Just like people can copy LEGO build designs or buy special LEGO sets, people can save your builds.  It's a core feature of the game.  Not only will Badspot not help you prevent this, he will work to block any attempts to do so.

If you really want to prevent build stealing, I suggest building it in Single-player, posting it on the forums and then putting it on your server or whatever.
But I think it would be silly to turn off saving, it was put into the game for a reason.

If you're build is good enough that other people want to steal it, why take offense at that?
Just build it in a way that it shows it was your build if you are that worried about build-stealers.

Exactly. I have a macro that just writes my name. Hide your name somewhere, JIC.

The only way that I can think of to accomplish this, would be to not send brick ghost objects to clients.

This is ridiculous because then, not only can people not save the bricks, but they cannot see them, or know that they are there, which in turn completely throws off interpolation (hence the "bouncing" while you are standing on top of bricks you have not yet ghosted).
