I recently saw a gameplay video of Supreme Commander and I thought it looked pretty cool. Does anybody here have it and if so, is it any good?

I have both Supreme Commander and Forged Alliance. Forged Alliance easily beats the original, has more units, better systems and overall everything better (Like the music, its just pure epic). Its a highly a resourced based game, its also one of those special RTS games where you can actually defend Rushers with the base defences. Rounds can last up to 2 hours because of how much CPU it uses (game slows right down).

Overall I give it a 9/10 for an RTS game, I loving love it. I rate CNC games around 5/10 just because its all about rushing and nothing else.

Correction: Newer modern CnC games are suck because its all about rushing and nothing else, mainly Generals, CnC3, Red Alert 3 and the AIDS known as CnC4.

I never really tried SC because I never really cared for it that much :\

You play old CNC games online and its about rushing. Though SP you didn't have to, unless you're playing one of those epic TS 3 vs 3 defence attack levels.

Total Annihilation was what Supreme Commander was based off of originally, it's very old but I have a few disks for it and an expansion around my house when I used to play it all the time, great game.

TA also requires only 32-64mb of RAM, my TA:Kingdoms disc runs fine and I play on it all the time on XP, not sure about Vista and forwards though.

Ta was one of my first RTS games and I used to play it all the time.
Some times I'd play LAN with my father and with my friend when I was at his house.

I still need to play SC :(

Supreme commander isn't laggy, it has a slow down/speed up feature that it uses when it has to use more CPU then you have, slows down the game so it can run it smoothly.
