You know, I'm sorry to ruin all of this prepubescent anger, but:
It's a loving video game. No one is making you play it.
You don't like this new map idea? forget off then. Go out a get a girlfriend or something and stop playing this life-sucker of a game.
I don't play WoW, never have, never will, but when I watched the trailers, it seemed like (from a gamer's point of view): "hey look, awesome new content to make my adventuring feel like it's really some epic story."
Personally, the new content should be enough to have you jumping out of your socks. I know if some of my favorite games of all time got an update, I wouldn't complain.
Also you clearly don't understand realism. If the map gets tworn by lava then it'll add to you and ability to brag to all the newcigarettes like you're some old man:
"I remember back in the day this lava pit used to be a field that I had many a encounters in. Ah, now those were the good old days"
