Barack Obama awarded Nobel Peace Prize

Peace through violence.

Being violent towards terrorism isn't going to result in peace.

Some people I know were bitching about this acting as if it was Obama who pushed for the reward.

I'm not really angered at Obama for this, but at the committee or whatever it is that decides this thing.
Why was he even nominated in the first place?

He's considering sending 40,000 more troops over to the Middle East.  Correct me if I'm wrong, but that isn't very peaceful.

Then go ahead and enlighten me.  But honestly, I don't see how a peace prize can be awarded to an advocate of militarily actions.

Either way, he's been awarded "for his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples", which is still pretty bogus.  So he's cooperated with other world leaders, while I'm sure others have done things more worthy.

He may not have deserved it, but he certainly did do a good job of bettering the image of the United States.
