I have it, it's incredibly fun, especially with the large map packs out there.
It's not multiplayer, but there are some mods being worked on for such.

Get GMod with it, Portal is a mount for it.
It will also be useful for awesome builds in GMod.

All came with the portal demo.

Portal with Gmod would be about 30$ right? This is in Canadian currency too.

I have Portal from the Xbox Marketplace. It's REALLY easy to beat, but it just makes you want to play it over and over again. In fact, I think I might go play it now! :D

I have the orange box for X-Box. It's okay, but I can't play TF2 online because of a stuffty connection.

I might be getting TF2+Garry's mod this week, so I can actually play online.

If you haven't already, get Garry's mod so you can fill a room with companion cubes.
Or just explore all the Portal maps if your computer can handle it.
My computer shuts down GMod when I try to fly to the ending scene area above the GlaDOS chamber, but then again, it's a 1.6GHz 12" laptop :P
So yes, if you don't have a netbook, get it.
