I now have to be the first poster in all your topics. I'll check this place out, but I think it will be the same Satan-produced demonic spawn as was Runescape......

isnt this stolen content from a game, so that they can run a private server with it?
there are rules in these forums here very specific on this lol

Actually, it's only illegal if you change the copyrighted content and use it to make money, like changing the player models and then charging for membership, actually using the source files for fun and recreation isn't :3

yes, it is

Nope, it's a little loophole that was found ages ago, private servers are not legal or illegal as long as you don't use them to make a profit or modify the games main files, I'm serious.

this game has been clearly modified, the site cant shut up about it so your "loophole" that don't matter, don't exist anyways.

When I say modified I mean the games core, not the little item drop lists and shop lists, but anyway, end of, I'm not up for an offtopic argument

no im not ending it, you claim private mmo servers are ok and stealing content is ok.
back it up holmes
show up your loophole proof

This is illegal, get over it.

Here is one of the rules attached to the games forum:

Do not:
    * Do not give links/talk about/show off private or cracked mmo servers - this is piracy
Here is the content of the agreement page you have to agree to before you can enter the site.
I'm no professional, but they clearly haven't got permission from Jagex to use this and have disallowed anyone connected to Jagex or anyone who might pose a threat to them to visit their page. This is blatantly piracy, and I'll be looking through the Computer Misuse act 1990 for the next half hour. Shame they didn't quote a section of it.

If Jagex wanted people to have their source, they'd release it. Private servers that take in any income, even if they're just donations, exist illegally as far as I'm aware. While they say that all the money goes to server costs, it's highly unlikely that it'll be true.

the bold is where i stop reading

even free private servers steal customers. the site brags about its 10k users. that's lost income for jagex.

After a slight bit of googling I have found out that there is indeed a loophole, but not one to the same affect as the one I stated, so... Yeah, pretty much illegal :l
