Go into the small Mimiga break room and talk to Kanpachi. Follow him to the pond, talk to him, and get the key to the locked door out of the bucket. Use it, try to use teleporter, and get captured. Read Sue's letter after talking to the fat Mimiga a few times, escape, and go see Momorin through a false brick above a seemingly inacessible door.

You need Booster v2.0 to get back to the First Cave. It has a longer flight time.
If you have it:
Fly back up to the First Cave's entrance.
Go back to the old hermit. He'll be awake.
He'll tell you the gun wasn't finish, and if you have the Polar Star, he'll reprimand you, remove it, and finish it. He'll then give it back to you as the spur after some emotional gun mumbo-jumbo.

No problem.
Anyway, back in the Labryinth, when the Professor fell from the ceiling, don't go down to check on him. Run up to the red mark on the land and jump across. He won't die, and when you go back to Arthur's house for the last time (Before Outer Wall), he'll teleport there and give it to you.

You have to go see Momorin first. She'll make a rocket for you to go up there.
