From all I have seen and heard there is no indication of a Half-life 3, then again valve is generally good at keeping it's secrets. If there is going to be a half-life 3 then don't hold your breath, look at the time gap between half-life and half-life 2.

I did read that, however if you shoot back in time a few years, you'll see that there was a time when they denied that there was going to be a half-life 2.

There is going to be a Half Life 3 - Episode 3. Dumbhead. Not Half Life 3. It will come out in 2011.
