Bullstuff, I saw one in a local computer store that was about as big as an external floppy drive, maybe a bit bigger.
Unless that was just sarcasm/a joke. :/

How big is a TB hard drive? I mean the size of it? I dont have much room on my desk.

I don't know what exactly you plan on doing, but from what I've been able to deduce you want to connect an external hard drive directly to your motherboard via SATA / IDE cables. This is rather pointless, as externals can already be connected to the computer. If you want to buy a hard drive and place it in your computer, all you have to do is make sure there are the proper connections on the motherboard, enough room, and that you have the required cable. You can't do this (easily) with an external hard drive.
