Yahoo changed it is homepage.

Worse yet is that countless programs try to install the yahoo tool bar, set yahoo as the home page and in my case AVG kept changing my default search to yahoo and then trying to block any attempt to change it back until i Finally disabled it's Add-ons.

The  less-advanced users probably have their homepage as yahoo because of programs changing it, and now they get that ugly webpage.
