Author Topic: I love this game, But there's one thing I can't understand  (Read 6388 times)

I actually think I made a topic about this a long time ago.. But I think it's important to talk about.

I have alot of friends in Blockland, and it's a fantastic game, and I love that Eric keeps the game updated, but I would also update it, if I earned several thens of thousands of it, if not more (It's more...) And maybe he's satisfied with those money. But I really want more players to join in, There's soon 20000 members, which is a lot, but imagine if Eric would have advertised about the game! Maybe he's afraid to get in fight with LEGO or some other huge company, but anyway - The game needs more members - It could be huge. He's doing NO advertising at all at the moment, and he's still getting new members every day. It just, blows my mind why he's not doing this! And I know that you're reading this Eric, and I would love to get an answer :) Is there some specific reason?

Most of the members of this game is around 13 years old (results from a poll I recently made) but there's some older ones as well, I would love to see more older members in this game, and maybe advertising about the game could lure them in to playing? I could probably make a very nice Photoshop ad just for fun, to see the results, and if I do, I'll post it in this topic. I can understand Eric if it's annoying to have alot of kids running around his legs all the time, and maybe advertising could change that. (But it would probably just cause more kids to get membership, haha)

I did some counting just for fun..
Let's say there's 17000 members, all that paid ~$20 for the membership. That's $340000
Future advertisment on 10 websites; $30 per site = $300
That would probably result in more money per month, which would pay off big time. :S

He does advertise. There's Blockland ads on every site involved with "game" and "lego" or "building"

He does advertise a little.

Google advertises for him a lot. I see Blockland ads by Google everywhere.

Maybe he doesn't want to deal with all of the dipforgets that would come with advertising. I'm sure Evony, with all of their stupid advertising, has tons of idiots playing it. I don't think Badspot wants to go that direction.

There is? Haven't seen one! But it could have to do with me, living in Sweden, the ads could be restricted to certain countrys :P

Maybe not, But it's not that he couldn't afford to hire staff if he liked to :P I don't know, maybe it's me who's thinking TOO BIG

If he advertises more, than more stupid people may join, which would stink.

I've seen a Blockland ad on Youtube, and on garrysmod.org

I found blockland because of an ad.

Also, i think that after all the fees he has to pay, Eric only gets about $9 per game.

He gets $9 for every key bought

Roblox is on mmorpg.com for some reason. Blockland should be too. :D

Blockland ads are on Brickshelf, YouTube, Roblox*, OneMoreLevel, Kongregate, CrazyMonkeyGames, Google, and lots more.
*Irony, they don't want you advertising this game, but they do themselves.

why do you all think badspot wouldnt want more members? comments like that are made all the time and it dont make sense.

i would bet badspot really dont care what "kind" of players join the game, its not like his personal mining rocks would get crowded. the game will be no different then now even if it had a million players.
