I remember I used to be scared of the USSR clan server because the USSR were the "badguys" or something. Also the server when one ctrl k'd it said "so-and-so gave their life for the motherland" and I was like wtf.
Also I didn't know how to make things tilt, and i didnt know what the EW was.

thats pretty funny. remember one guy came to our server and just started asking all these random questions. We were like dude go to the forums. And he's like what's that. :o
I was afraid to hit esc button because I thought the game would crash. Was afraid of the admin orb. Didn't know how to  use the admin orb. so yeah. . .you can imagine how my admin privileges turned out.

I too didn't know how to tilt things with the EW, I just kept messing around with the x and y angles till I made the brick turn inside out... or well it looked inside out. But of course, BACS pak made tilting a lot simpler.

my first build was a long string of red weapon-spawning bricks with glowing rainbow fire.  I'm still not an effective builder, but I can event at a medium-high level.  I am regarded as the best eventer by most of my BL friends.

I remember always joining facepunch's freebuild server and doing really random things like painting everybodies houses pink and building random bricks. First actual build was a house I made for myself. Looked like a giant L and sucked balls. It was totally messed up color wise for one part would be pink, another red, ect. for I hadn't really figured out how to work the paint can [FAIL] Couldn't figure out how to make stairs so just used events and setplayer velocity which ended up layers flying up and hitting the ceiling of the bedroom for I didnt know how to switch maps [EPIC FAIL]
