I had a hard time completing the thieves guild missions, as I had killed most hobos prior to getting the quests.

I had a hard time completing the quests because they were simply to tense.
sneaking past people
helping a handicapped argonian escape a dungeon(the pale lady wasnt thar :o)
I was stealing the ring from the lady of leyawiin
and after I stole it
I cast a detect life spell and saw the someone was coming thru the door
I panicked and ran out
